Cilantro SF Taqueria opened its doors in January 2018 in North Beach, but the love for Mexican food began years ago in Los Altos de Jalisco, in a small town called San José de Gracia.
It was there that Jorge, aka “Gordo,” as he is known by his family and friends, found his passion in the kitchen. He first opened a restaurant in San José de Gracia called Pa’dentro, and it became well-known for its ceviches and carne asada and al pastor tacos.
Located in a small town, Gordo was at an advantage, using fresh and locally grown ingredients, making the food he prepared taste even better. From there, he tried his luck in the Bay Area, and the rest is history. Today, Cilantro SF Taqueria is proud to be serving fresh, flavorful Mexican food in San Francisco, and hopes to continue making its customers come back for more.
